I’m Emma Alexandra Hershberger, and this is Through River Eyes, a container, a little universe, to fill with the creative currents that flow through me. I am a writer, a poet, and an artist, amongst other things. This space brings them all together and gives them a place to be in this world. I hope it gives you permission to be all the things you are, and I can’t wait to see where our connection leads.
I reside in a place filled with pines and starlight, thread together by the Chattooga River. The river called to me, so I came– really the first time I ever answered that little voice inside. Here I explore the world around me, hoping to grow into a deeper love and knowing of it while I discover how to be in it.

I acknowledge that this land I live on is not mine. This land is sovereign and is the traditional territory of the Cherokee. I give gratitude to all ancestors of this land.
I also acknowledge and give gratitude to all my teachers, whose wisdom and spaces for learning have guided me to where I am now.
